Often times it is when we least expect it that drastic changes (e.g. a layoff) force us to follow these useful tips outlined in your post. Getting let go, downsized, laid off or whatever you want to call it can feel devastating at the time. Yet sometimes it is truly is a blessing in disguise: forcing us to move, grow and take risks that we were once afraid to take, in order to move on toward better experiences.

I had this experience and now know that I'm much better off now than I was before. I write this so that other readers know that many of us have "been there before" and we've come out smiling.

There is always a way to look at the glass as half-full, instead of half-empty. That choice lies within us.
