Identity theft is the last thing that you need when you are on the hunt for a job. There are a number of things you can do to protect yourself. When applying to job boards on the internet you can select the hide my personal information option which will allow the employer only to see your job history and then contact you directly if there is an interest. I know it is hard to believe but there are people who will send you fake job listings to your e mail as another way to obtain your personal information, so you need to research the company before you send your information to them.
